Does anyone have any tips for drinking more water?

Asked 5 years ago

I can't seem to get in enough water throughout the day. I workout in the evening and I am always dehydrated during my sessions. Any tips or advice?

Hydration is so important! Get yourself a giant bottle. I got myself a gallon bottle that I know I have to finish by the end of the day.

I don't really have any tips, I just do it. I fill up a water bottle and just carry it around with me everywhere I go, and because I have it with me, I just end up drinking it! Just make sure to keep refilling the bottle every now and then.

I add different fruit to my water every day so that I don't get bored. Grapefruit, lemon, strawberries and blueberries are great options. I also only take my water bottle with me into meetings so I’m forced to drink water instead of coffee or tea.

Try to add different fruit to your bottle. I like to rotate between strawberries, lemon and limes. I also like to add cucumber and ginger sometimes.

Using a straw helps me! Find a bottle with a built-in straw.

I have a water drinking app on my phone that reminds me every 30 minutes to drink water.

If you have to take any medication, drink a glass of water with it first thing in the morning. Drink 2 more bottles when you workout, one glass at lunch, one in the afternoon with a snack, another glass with your dinner and one glass right before bed. That way, you shouldn't have any trouble getting enough water.

Try to drink flavored water. You can usually buy water flavoring drops at your local supermarket.

Do not add any additives or flavouring to your water. The sugar and artificial sweeteners that the flavouring contains is not good for your health. If you would like to flavour your water, stick to adding fruit.
