Reaction time and speed is an important skill needed in soccer. Here are a few reaction training drills that soccer players can perform with a reaction light training system, like BlazePod.

Three Pod Dribble

  • Place 3 light pods in a row with approximately 50 centimeters between each pod.
  • Connect the pods to the BlazePod app.
  • Set the pods to light up in random order.
  • Start the drill by standing with a soccer ball at your feet.
  • As a pod lights up, dribble the ball in a circle around the pod.
  • As the next pod lights up, repeat the drill by dribbling the ball around the pod.
  • To make the drill more challenging, set the pods to light up and change faster, forcing them to react and move quickly.

Center Square Dribble

  • Place 4 light pods in a square formation, with approximately 4 meters between the pods.
  • Place a cone at the center of the square.
  • Connect the pods to the BlazePod app.
  • Set the pods to light up in random order.
  • Start the drill by standing at the center cone with a soccer ball.
  • As a pod lights up, dribble the ball towards and around the light pod before returning to the center cone.
  • Repeat the drill by moving between the light pods and the center cone.

Dash Dribble

  • Place 4 light pods in a square formation, with approximately 50 centimeters between the pods.
  • Connect the pods to the BlazePod app.
  • Set the pods to light up in random order.
  • Start the drill by standing in the center of the square with a soccer ball.
  • As a pod lights up, dribble the ball towards and around the light pod before returning to the center of the square.
  • Repeat the drill by moving between the light pods and the center of the square.
  • To make the drill more challenging, set the pods to all light up and change simultaneously, with 2 of the pods turning red, 1 pod turning blue, and 1 pod turning green. The aim is only to dribble the ball around the green light pod.

With a reaction light training system, like BlazePod, improving soccer players' reaction time is easy, fun, and interactive.
